OUR TIMBER

Unique, beautiful and timeless, Australian hardwood is unrivalled. The sheer natural beauty and integrity of our timber represents the centrepiece of our business.

ORIGINS

All our timber is salvaged and sourced from the pristine forest floor regions and private properties of the Mid-North Coast of NSW, Victoria, Western Australia and Far-North Queensland. Ranging in age from 10 to over 300 years, we only source the very best available salvaged Australian Native Hardwood species including: Spotted Gum, Blue Gum, Red Gum, Rose Wood, Tallowood, Iron Bark, Silver Ash and Jarrah. All these species are renowned for their individual characteristics, colour and durability and have been acquired based on the following strict selection criteria:

  • Origin - the region and history of the timber
  • Harvesting - the conditions under which the tree was felled
  • Integrity - ensuring the timber has not been compromised
  • Age - establishing how old the timber is
  • Size - enabling furniture to be crafted without excessive waste

This rigorous process ensures the timber we acquire, not only represents and exhibits the very best characteristics of the species, it continues to maintain and promote our very strong and ethical environmental values.

OIL

Made in Australia, Organoil is 100% natural and made from all natural ingredients. Filtered, unmodified Tung Nut Oil, Citrus, Eucalypt and Pine Wood oils and extracts with dissolved, refined Bees Wax, UV rated colourants in the form of dyes added to Red & Gold Enhancers ensures the preservation of the timbers natural beauty, colour and integrity without compromising the environment.

FINISHING

Our furniture is all hand finished and sanded through 5 stages. This lengthy and rigorous process enables the oil or lacquer to bond and seal the timber giving added protection and an unparalleled finish and lustre.

We believe that to create a truly beautiful table, it takes time. Our furniture is made, not manufactured. The finished product is truly unique and individual, a work of art that you will be proud of for many years to come.
